New Beginnings!

I've taken some time (and by that I mean a lot of time) off, but I'm ready to start again.

I am excited to share the new blog and I will definitely keep you posted.

Stay tuned!

Jump into Spring

This jumpsuit is absolutely adorable. I love the halter top, bow belt and buttons down the side. From top to bottom, it's perfect. Plus, I'm a fan of chambray and the wide legs.
I would love to pair the jumpsuit with this sleek Chloe bag (I wish!) that is extremely versatile thanks to its top handles and cross-body strap. The gold hardware offers just enough dazzle. I love the glossy black finish and contrasting brown handles.

I wish that I had a better picture of this jacket, but it would be a great match with the jumpsuit until the weather gets warmer. I love the cream color, fitted cut and subtle jacquard pattern. I think that a sheer white turtleneck would also be a nice option underneath the jumpsuit.

I know, I know, I just wrote a post lamenting the lack of shoes without platforms. But hear me out... I approve of what I like to call "mega wedges" underneath ultra-long pants. I figure that you can't see the shoe, so it's acceptable. Just be sure to choose a mega wedge with an ankle strap; I think that it can be difficult to keep on a shoe with such a heavy sole without the aid of a strap.

To finish things off, I'd add some brightly colored drop earrings and a gold bracelet watch.

Tory's Spring 2012 Handbags
When I checked out Tory Burch's spring handbags, I ended up adding many things to my must-have list. While I tend to gravitate towards neutral colors, I really love the shades of blue that she offers. Plus, the raffia fringe handbag is a lot of fun.

Minimal Color

Spring doesn't have to mean bright colors. Check out a few of the season's neutral offerings.

The white leather paillettes bring texture and movement to this mini-skirt.

This nylon and leather bag is a great casual, but modern option.

I love the neutral floral pattern and wrapped shape of this skirt.

This nude satchel/cross-body bag has lux leather and a classic shape.

These sleek suede sandals are sophisticated and simple.
Plus, they're only $49.95!

Sleek Sandals

It's nice to see the re-emergence of shoes without platforms or chunky heels. Sky high heels have been omnipresent the past couple of seasons and I never really got on board.

I admit, that I have a pair of platform heels (though they're as sleek as I was able to find) and I love wedges. But my preference leans toward slim and sophisticated.

I love the neutral palette (snakeskin-print included) of the versatile heels above; they also come with a coral-colored lower strap if you're more daring.

Some more of my current favorites are below.

I love the soft colors and minimal straps of these sandals.
Though the tie-front closure is not exactly functional, I love the funky snake-skin embossed ankle wrap.
The jewel-tones and geometrical shapes on these sleek wedges, could bring an artsy look to an otherwise simple outfit.

Fashion Week for Beginners

If you're a regular girl like me who follows fashion and would love to attend fashion week, I'm sure that you've imagined what you would wear to the shows.

We don't all have access to the latest designs or the budget to buy ultra-lux offerings, so it's best to pick and choose special items that you can mix into your closet's current contents.

The pants above are a great stand-out piece. I'm not usually a fan of prints, but the muted palette makes these more wearable.

This trench's white/gray color combo and tulip-hem take it beyond the standard beige go-to.

You can't go wrong with this classic satchel's sleek lines, detailed push-lock clasp and cross-body chain.

This flowing tee would look great with almost anything; black never disappoints.

And finally, it all comes down to the shoes. This pair is modern, yet whimsical with all of the straps and cut-outs. Plus, the small platform will make the height of the heel a bit more bearable to wear all day.

I think that the items in this post would look quite stylish as a complete outfit or mixed into any wardrobe. I can't wait to see what the designers have to offer tomorrow.

And if you're not lucky enough to attend the shows, you can still make your  sidewalks a runway!

Tory Burch - Eleri Satchel - $595 - Bloomingdale's

B Brian Atwood - Fine Day High Heel - $375 - Nordstrom

Bright Start

Spring is not far off (at least I'd like to think so) and brightly colored dresses are making themselves known. Given the bleakness of winter, I am ready for anything that reminds me of a warmer climate.

This cape dress by Nicholas is a deep emerald hue and a nice way to transition into spring. I love the pleating and gold belt.

Orange is a color that I have become fond of in recent months. This Roland Mouret dress is sophisticated, yet fun thanks to the pleats around the neck.

Cascading ruffles down the back of this Alice + Olivia dress bring a whimsical twist to an otherwise simple dress.

Nicholas - Melanie Belted Dress - $499 - Shopbop
Roland Mouret - Wikes Stretch-Crepe Dress - $2,375 - Net-A-Porter
Alice + Olivia - Alaina Ruffled-Back Silk Dress - $395 - Net A Porter
